Returns & Refund Policy
Clear, fair and easy to understand
Our policy for returns, refunds, exchanges, bespoke work and defective items.
Last updated: 31 August 2026
14-day return window for standard stock
Standard in-stock pieces may be returned within 14 calendar days of delivery, provided they are unworn, unused, unaltered and returned with their original packaging and proof of purchase. Please contact us before sending an item back so we can confirm the return instructions and delivery address.
Refund timing
Once an approved return has been received and inspected, we normally initiate the refund to the original payment method within 7 business days. Your bank or payment provider may then take a further 5–10 business days to display the credit. Original delivery charges are not normally refunded for a change-of-mind return unless required by law.
Return courier costs
For a change-of-mind return, the customer is normally responsible for the return courier cost and for ensuring the item is packaged securely. For valuable jewellery we strongly recommend a tracked and appropriately insured return service. If the item is defective, damaged on arrival, incorrectly supplied, or if applicable law requires otherwise, Tommy D Jewellers will arrange or reimburse the appropriate reasonable return method.
Bespoke, personalised & altered pieces
Bespoke, engraved, resized, personalised, specially sourced and made-to-order pieces are generally not eligible for a change-of-mind return where permitted by law because they are made or altered specifically for you. Any applicable cancellation, deposit or production terms will be explained before custom work begins.
Earrings & hygiene-sensitive items
Pierced earrings and other hygiene-sensitive items may be restricted from change-of-mind return once worn or tried on, where permitted by law. This does not remove any rights you may have if an item is defective, unsafe or incorrectly supplied.
Damaged, defective or incorrect items
Please contact us as soon as reasonably possible if your order arrives damaged, appears defective or is not what you ordered. Include your order reference and clear photographs where possible. We will assess the issue and provide the appropriate repair, replacement, refund or other remedy in accordance with applicable South African consumer law.
Your statutory rights
This policy is intended to work alongside, not replace, your rights under applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Where statutory cooling-off, quality, safety, repair, replacement or refund rights apply, those rights remain unaffected.
